Photography in the Foyer

In the mid-forties, amateur photographer Joaquim Gomis visited Gimeno Foundry with his friend Joan Miró. At the foundry, Gomis found material paying tribute to the leaders of Franco's dictatorship, as well as remnants of artistic movements prior to the Republic. Gomis was able to photograph the improvised assemblage with the subtle irony that this highly restrictive period called for.
