The Casa Bloc is a rationalist social housing building designed by GATCPAC architects near the end of the Second Republic. It was intended for workers from the factories at Sant Andreu, but before the inauguration the Franco regime allocated most of the apartment to military families instead. Photographer Irena Visa documents the last generation of people who actually lived in the Casa Bloc. The traces left by the inhabitants and the passing of time contrast with apartment 1/11, which has been equipped as an apartment-museum showing the aesthetic imagined by GATCPAC architects when the building was originally built.
