A sensory approach to architecture through tactile models, relief plans, the sonority of spaces, the textures of materials, etc.
What do we, as women, identify with? With a person, a landscape, a dress, a dish or perhaps a smell? In Signs of identity. Portraits of women, the participants will produce a self-portrait. This will be the result of a process of introspection and learning, with photography serving as a tool to show what they want from their lives.
A walk around the Foundation to feel the trees and smell Miró’s earth, to discover the lines drawn on his paintings and the volumes of his sculptures. We will also talk about architecture, and the spaces and textures of our building.
Using the photographs that Joaquim Gomis took of Joan Miró and his surroundings as a starting point, we will relive scenes from our past.
Cyanotype is a technique whereby the shape of an object is captured using its silhouette.
Joan Miró. Sculpture and object provides an insight into Miró’s sculpture by means of a commentary and direct tactile observation of certain pieces that have been specially selected for this activity (according to conservation criteria). A case of materials completes the sensory experience.
This activity introduces visitors to the world of architecture through one of the finest examples of twentieth century Catalan architecture, the Fundació Joan Miró building, designed by Josep Lluís Sert and declared a Site of Cultural Interest.
The common thread running through Joan Miró’s work. Paintings and signs presents the language of shapes and motifs that Miró created throughout his life.
In this activity, we will become more familiar with the world of engraving, through tactile exploration of some of Joan Miró’s original copper plates and printing tests that are conserved at the Fundació.
During the course of this activity we will walk among Miró’s works and share observations, experiences and emotions.
