The celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Fundació Joan Miró, beginning on June 10, 2025, will highlight its value as a space for plural and pioneering artistic experimentation, with a varied program featuring several exhibitions by national and international artists.
The exhibition "Painting the Sky. 50 Years of Stories from the Fundació Miró" will officially open the celebration on June 10 with a journey through the fifty-year history of the Fundació, presented through a multifaceted narrative and a collaborative methodology that places artists at the center.
The exhibition "Exchanges: Miró and the United States" will propose an intergenerational dialogue between Joan Miró and American artists, with a selection that will include around 160 works by Miró and a wide range of artists from various generations, such as Louise Bourgeois, Helen Frankenthaler, Lee Krasner, Arshile Gorky, Jackson Pollock, and Mark Rothko, among many others.
On May 8, 2025, the winner of the 9th edition of the Joan Miró Prize, the biennial international award, will be announced.
