Roni Horn (New York, 1955)
Roni Horn never ceases to thrill international audiences with her multifaceted artistic work, which links the mechanics of perception and communication with aspects of nature, the landscape, popular culture and other issues related to materiality. A tireless explorer in the fields of conceptual art and minimalism, she is best described as a visual artist and writer. Her subtle and complex work makes use of multiple media to focus on place, placement and drawing as a process and a compass. In the judges’ own words: "Her oeuvre, like Miró’s, is endlessly open."
