Olafur Eliasson (Copenhaguen, 1967)
Olafur Eliasson’s work studies sensory perception, the laws of the physics and natural phenomena. His site-specific installations rethink materials such as light, water, ice and fog to create remarkable situations that change spectators’ perception of space and themselves. His wide-ranging, complex pieces show his staunch commitment to the world around him and his constant questioning of modern-day life. He is now a major force on the current art scene.
