Josefina Miralles: Landscape
Landscape by Josefina Miralles at the Fundació Joan Miró
Following her participation as an artist invited by the Spanish government to the Venice Biennale with the installation Mediterrani t’estim (Mediterranean, I Love You), Josefina Miralles presents a selection of her work at the Fundació Joan Miró’s Espai 10.
The Fundació Joan Miró’s Espai 10 is designed to host all manner of exhibitions within the avant-garde movement of our country that include experiences in the field of the visual arts. Josefina Miralles fulfils this purpose with the exhibition Landscape.
The elements presented here are three installations, one object and five paintings.
The general theme of the exhibition presents ‘a landscape’ handled from a new perspective, rejecting traditional landscape elements.
The canvas is no longer the medium for the formalist representation of a specific landscape; each element of the exhibition has its own autonomy and is not representative of any other: it is simply a traditional medium – canvas – used as another element.
Josefina Miralles has until now worked in spaces such as nature or galleries. She is currently presenting to us the same intentions and purposes in the ‘canvas space’.
The exhibition will run until 28 January.
