Works by Joan Miró
217 paintings, 178 sculptures, 9 textiles, 4 ceramics, some 8,000 drawings and almost all his prints
Most of these pieces were donated by the artist himself, but others came from collections owned by his wife, Pilar Juncosa, and Joan Prats, his close friend and the driving force behind the idea of setting up the Fundació Joan Miró. The collection grew with subsequent donations by Marguerite and Aimé Maeght, Pierre Matisse, Manuel de Muga, Josep Lluís Sert, Francesc Farreras, Galeria Gaspar, Gaspar Farreras family, Josep Royo, Gérald Cramer and David Fernández Miró, among others. It also includes works on loan from collections owned by Emili Fernández Miró, Joan Punyet Miró and Lola Fernández Jiménez and from the Kazumasa Katsuta Collection.
