Lluerna: Carving Out a Place

The seventh edition of Lluerna will revolve around the concept of carving out a place, entering a temporality that not only defines us, but also invites us to redefine it. It is about inhabiting the present with memory and transforming it with a forward-looking approach, keeping alive the capacity of places to be spaces of meaning and relationships.

The current call is part of Espai 13's present season How from Here, curated by Carolina Jiménez, inviting artists to reflect on the following topics:

  • Memory and belongings: Exploring how physical and symbolic spaces accumulate memories and construct belongings that shape individual and collective identities.
  • Displacement and rupture: Reflecting on the social, emotional and political consequences of uprooting and loss of space, as well as the forms of resistance that emerge when confronted with these processes.
  • Resistance and collectiveness: Defending spaces as a resilient gesture and constructing shared spaces that foster inclusive relationships and futures.
  • Symbolic virtual spaces: Examining (symbolic and digital) immaterial spaces as new places to inhabit, resist and imagine.

You can apply for the Lluerna call until 23 January at 11.59 pm based on the following terms and conditions: here.
