Joan Miró Collection
Un llibre ple de lletres

Joan Miró Collection
During the presentation, Òscar Dalmau will give a reading from the book and will also sign copies for anyone who wants one.
You will also be able to participate in a workshop to create your own book of typefaces, organised by the Coco Books publishing house. The typographer Jesús Morentin will print an envelope using a special typeface so that each participant can keep their book in it.
Did you know that, just like you, a single letter can wear different clothes? Letters are a lot like people: they can be tall, short, fat, thin and different colours; there are some that have two legs and others that only have one, and even some that have no legs at all! Even though they each have their own personality when they're alone, as soon as they come together they can tell lots of stories and write a book like this one.
A book full of letters to read... and to look at! In it, you'll find rhyming texts in capital letters to make it easier for tiny tots to read and to help them recognise the shapes of the letters.
Dalmau learnt the alphabet when he was four years old and graduated in Audiovisual Communication at the age of twenty-two, after which he went to work in radio and television, making humorous and entertaining programmes. In all his jobs, he never stops reading and writing letters. One of his published books is entitled Barcelona retro, in which he reveals his passion for architecture, sculpture and photography.
Linked to teaching since 1996 and a graphic designer by training, in 2009 Jesús Morentin embarked on a project to research and revive old printing methods using entirely manual processes, employing lead and wood types, and set up BunkerType, his own studio in Barcelona, where he pursues his personal projects.
