Presentation of the publication Miró and Twentieth-Century Sculpture, which contains the lectures from the symposium of the same name. This publication is the second issue of Miró Documents, a series which compiles the results of the research conducted by the Miró Chair on Joan Miró based on an exhibition or a symposium.
The texts in Miró Documents II show that Joan Miró's work not only falls squarely within the tradition of modern sculpture, but it also succeeds in opening up new horizons from both a technical and a conceptual point of view.
Robert Lubar Messeri, director of New York University in Madrid, the Miró Chair and the International Miró Research Group, will converse with Estrella de Diego and María Dolores Jiménez-Blanco, professors of Art History at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
Miró and Twentieth-Century Sculpture is published by the Miró Chair (Fundació Joan Miró de Barcelona / Universitat Oberta de Catalunya) and New York University in Madrid.
