Under the title Interdependencies: The Fiction of Autonomy, the sixth edition of Lluerna revolves around the existing links between our bodies and lives with other forms of existence. Interdependence informs us about our relationship with the world, how we inhabit it, our limits and vulnerabilities.
The new call and programme of actions and activities are part of the Espai 13 series We Will Keep Each Other Company When It Grows Dark, curated by Irina Mutt and with the participation of the artists Alba Mayol, Inari Sandell, Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley and Helena Vinent.
Based on these themes, artists are invited to present their works and lines of research that address:
- Human interconnection: on the relationships and bonds between people.
- Community stories: on the evolution of specific communities, highlighting their role in building collective identities.
- Culture and technology: on how culture and technology influence the way in which people relate to each other.
- Relationship with the environment: on the interdependence between humans and nature.
- Illusion of the self: on the perception of individual and collective autonomy.
- Physical permeability and fluidity: on the porosity of the body and the effects of contact.
