If I Were a Bit, If I Were a Whole

How many materials are there in an exhibition? Can we make a collage using our own body? This collage workshop explores the range of materials in the Miró-Picasso exhibition, and not just those in the exhibits but also those generated indirectly during its lifespan, including those involved in the installation of the show and in a number of activities in the public programme. Our explorations will result in an inventory of materials we have found that we can relate to.

Starting from the basis that everything we can see, feel and touch is material, we will be exploring the properties of material in its different states and the way it behaves in response to certain gestures and actions. We will play at creating on paper and in 3D by combining elements on different scales, small installations and ephemeral interventions. This is an expanded collage activity in which we will be making things together and being part of a whole.
