Idiòfona, or idiophone in English, is a word referring to instruments that produce sound through the vibration of all the materials from which they are made, without the use of strings, membranes or air columns.
Based on this idea and with public space as a stage, attendees will be able to participate and play with the materials to build a plastic sound installation. A collaborative task transformed into a kind of ancestral ritual.
The project is the result of years of research by Joan Català with working materials such as iron, wood, strings and tensors. These elements have become performative materials for staging shows in public space.
This show is part of the Grec Festival of Barcelona 2023 programme.
