In Museu 2023 at the Miró
In Museu is a unique experience that allows visitors to learn about the internal operations of the Fundació Joan Miró and museum spaces that are usually off-limits to the public. In the 2023 edition of the event, you will be able to discover what the process of setting up a travelling exhibition entails and how the new Miró Archives work.
Accompanied by the museum's technicians and specialists, there will be presentations of how the works are managed, including the packing, shipping and preventive conservation of a travelling exhibition's pieces.
During the tour, you will also be able to discover the new location of the Archives, as well as the documentation and works on paper within the collection that have recently been transferred there. Every aspect connected with preventive conservation in the new space will be explained: cleaning and conditioning, documentation protection and storage systems, and monitoring of the holdings' state of conservation.
