Ser(t)arquitecto is an intimate and professional biography of Josep Lluís Sert, the architect of the building that houses the Fundació Joan Miró and a fundamental figure in twentieth century architecture.
The author, María del Mar Arnús, has given us a personal insight into the career of an architect committed to innovation and social responsibility, while exploring his close relationships with artists such as Miró, Calder, Chagall, Giacometti, Mondrian, Duchamp, Max Ernst and Picasso.
An art critic and historian, Arnús has had access to personal documents shedding light on the different aspects of this architect: from his interest in Gaudí and the rationalist architecture of Gropius and the Bauhaus, his role as a teacher at Yale and Harvard, his international projects, his cultural participation at the time of the Republic in initiatives such as the GATCPAC, to his invitation to Le Corbusier's to visit Barcelona.
Taking part will be María del Mar Arnús, author; Jorge Herralde, director of the publishing house Anagrama; Jaume Freixa, architect and member of the Board of the Fundació Joan Miró; and Josep Massot and Llàtzer Moix, journalists.
