Waiting Room is a participatory space created by the artists Clàudia del Barrio and Anna Irina Russell in dialogue with the MiróMatisse. Beyond Images exhibition. The activity calls for reflection on ideas such as productive time, the importance of affection and friendship in creative processes.
The project proposes a space of collective deceleration, with a desire to confront with what we are generally used to seeing - the final result or moments of clarity and production - by showing the less visible part of the work of Miró and Matisse: moments of rest, contemplation and digression during the creative process.
The title refers to the waiting rooms or 'lobbies' found in many video games, where players wait while the next screen is loaded. These spaces are understood as a moment of rest and relaxation before continuing with the intensity of the game, where the user can often interact with the space, with other players, or discover information that will help them in the following screens.
